Remember little…

Most of you remember my niece and nephew, Brittany and Alex, from our wedding back in 1999. Well it’s 7 years later and Brittany went to her Senior Prom and is off to college. Alex’s hair is getting longer and is turning 16 while he is in Hong Kong staying with us for a few weeks this summer.

That was then…

This is now…

Yesterday’s Pictures on my Mobile

Photo from my office (cube) window. It was a clear day looking at Hong Kong Island. There was a Signal 3 Typhoon that blew all the pollution out.

Photo of Daniel sitting next to me in the cafeteria at the office.

Danny’s brother Chris was in town. This is a photo of him going up the outdoor escaltors to SoHo (South of Hollywood Road).

A photo of our almost finished beers at Staunton’s in SoHo.

A photo of Chris talking to Danny in front of Mes Amis in Wan Chai.

A photo of the lady who made me a Kebab at the end of the evening.

My Love For You Is Like A Big Pine Tree

Today is Mother’s Day. Grace and I fixed Mom some pretty good breakfast burritos. After breakfast, Mom was treated to two hours of spa treatments and a massage at the Elle Spa downstairs in our apartment complex. Grace surprised Mom in her treatment room with a Mother’s Day flower. The kinda crazy thing for me was taking Grace to the pool while Mom was being pampered. We had bought Grace some inflatable arm bands. While I was taking my shoes off and getting ready to get in the pool, Grace ran off and got in the deep end of the pool and swam out by herself. Kinda freaked me out. It seems not so long ago we had her in the baby pool with the floating swimsuit.

Nice Buns

A couple of Thursday’s ago a friend hired the Bank’s Junk and we headed out to the outlying island of Cheung Chau. We went on the night before the famous Cheung Chau Bun Festival. I stole a couple of pictures from Tony’s Flickr account. I thought Cheung Chau was really nice. It had a different vibe than Lamma Island where we went on the Junk in March. We are going out on the Junk with my Dad in a couple of weeks. I’m not sure where we’ll go yet.

And the Hits just keep on Coming…

Jean was able to get the building maintenance guys up here with the right tools to open up the box with my Terra Cotta Warrior in it. As you can see, it is out of the wooden box. Now I need to figure out how to get through 10 inches of caked on styrofoam packing. We’ll see what the next challenge is going to be.

And the Saga Continues…

Well my Terra Cotta Warrior arrived from Beijing! Unfortunately, after spending a good chunk of money on the 4ft. tall statue which included shipping to Hong Kong, I learned that the shipping to Hong Kong meant that they would just put the statue in a box and ship it here. It didn’t include taking the box off the boat, sticking it in a warehouse, loading it on to a truck, and delivering it to my house. That was another chunk of money. Almost half of the original chunk of money! Now that the box has arrived at my house… my next surprise… delivery didn’t include actually opening the box. I’ll keep you posted.
